Mary Poppins Festival

Maryborough, Queensland has a unique link to the world's most famous nanny that no other place in the world can claim. It is the birthplace of Mary Poppins author P. L Travers whose beloved novels were brilliantly adapted for the popular Disney movie of the same name and the award winning musical.

Maryborough celebrates its connection to Mary Poppins in many ways. The annual Mary Poppins Festival is believed to be first in the world to celebrate Mary Poppins and the success of her creator.

Maryborough’s riverside parks and heritage streetscapes provide a perfect setting for the festival with a range of other magical Mary experiences guaranteed to delight both young and old.

Racq Technology Challenge

The RACQ Technology Challenge Maryborough is Queensland’s premier youth and technology event which has been staged in Maryborough since 2002. Its focus is youth and innovation, the quest for alternative transport options, protecting our environment and the race categories are based on the school curriculum

Learning is taken out of the classroom into an exciting arena that demands technology, practical skills, physical fitness and teamwork.

The RACQ Technology Challenge is presented by the Fraser Coast Regional Council with support from event partners Maryborough State High, Bundaberg State High, Gympie State High and Maryborough Central Primary School.  Sponsorship secured this year has allowed us to widen the scope of technology related displays and activities and broaden the events appeal.
